For one of our banking clients we are on the search for an Business Architect within the Randstad region.
He/She will take ownership of the architectural landscape within the Engineering Enablement domain of a large-scale technology transformation initiative. This area is central to delivering the unified engineering experience across the enterprise, including the development and rollout of key platforms such as a centralized engineering portal, IT service management systems, and asset configuration management capabilities.
The role requires collaboration at the leadership level, aligning with counterparts from product and technology to steer the strategic vision and delivery roadmap for the engineering journey across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own and shape the business architecture for the Engineering Enablement domain, which encompasses strategic initiatives including:
- Migration of IT Service Management from legacy platforms to a modern, cloud-based solution.
- Development of a Configuration Management System integrating multiple asset repositories via a centralized data platform.
- Delivery of a unified engineering portal (built on Backstage) offering services, insights, and team information across the technology landscape.
- Implementation of a contextual intelligence layer leveraging organizational structure and technical metadata to drive engineering effectiveness.
- Establishment of a scalable co-creation model enabling cross-team contributions to shared platforms while maintaining governance and control.
- Functionally lead a team of six Solution Architects, ensuring architectural alignment, delivery excellence, and adherence to domain strategy.
- Operate as part of the area’s leadership triad (business, technology, and architecture), collectively driving the vision and execution for engineering transformation.
- Collaborate with a broader architecture team (10+ Business Architects) focused on Engineering and Data/Analytics, contributing to strategic planning and cross-functional initiatives at the organizational level.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 10 years of professional experience, including at least 4 years in architecture roles.
- Proven leadership capabilities, with a strong track record of influencing and guiding cross-functional stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to translate high-level strategic objectives into actionable architectural designs and solutions.
- Conceptual thinker with a structured, systems-oriented mindset and ability to manage complexity.
- Excellent communication skills in English; proficiency in Dutch is a strong plus.
