As a Solution Architect within a core platform engineering team within a financial organization, you will play a pivotal role in the evolution and rollout of an internal DevOps automation solution. This platform is designed to significantly enhance the development experience across a wide range of engineering teams, enabling them to deliver high-quality digital services efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design:

  • Create and communicate end-to-end architectural designs in collaboration with engineers, architects, product owners, and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure architectural decisions align with long-term strategy, scalability, and platform vision.

Team Support & Mentorship:

  • Coach development teams (currently a group of 8) through implementation challenges across the DevOps lifecycle.
  • Act as a technical advisor while fostering best practices in architecture and platform adoption.

Platform Advocacy:

  • Champion the use of the internal DevOps automation platform across the organization.
  • Drive adoption and help teams integrate the platform into their workflows.

Strategic Influence:

  • Contribute to the roadmap definition, aligning technical capabilities with evolving business needs.
  • Maintain close collaboration with product owners and stakeholders to shape and prioritize platform enhancements.

Collaboration & Innovation:

  • Work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical stakeholders to innovate and continuously improve the platform.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in IT/DevOps, including at least 3 years in a solution architecture role in a complex environment.
  • Strong technical background in platform engineering, with experience in Java development and modern DevOps practices.
  • Knowledge of cloud technologies such as Azure and/or AWS.
  • Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and cloud-native architecture (though the role is not hands-on).
  • Experience in stakeholder management and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Exposure to frontend engineering is a plus, but not required
