Who we are
BeyondDutch is an SVOD (Subscription Video On Demand) platform based in Hilversum, the Netherlands. We specialize in niche content channels with specific target audiences, including our fastest-growing brands: New Faith Network and WithLove. Since the launch of our first platform in 2017 in the Netherlands, we’ve expanded to more than 30 countries and now serve over 100,000 subscribers.
As we continue to grow, we are looking for a Junior Financial Controller to strengthen our Finance team. You’ll be working closely with the CFO and the current Financial Controller in a young, driven, and collaborative culture where new ideas are always welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Month-end closings: Execute efficient month-end processes in Exact Online, including intercompany reconciliations and balance sheet checks.
- Management reporting support: Assist in preparing monthly reports, budgets, forecasts, revenue-sharing reports (for external partners, distributors, and authorities), VAT filings, CBS reports, and internal reporting for the content team.
- Cash flow planning and analysis: Contribute to cash flow monitoring and analysis to support smart financial decisions.
- Accounting: Manage the books for multiple legal entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and up-to-date records.
- Optimize accounting processes: Evaluate and improve internal workflows like invoice approvals, expense claims, credit card tracking, and journal entries to boost efficiency and compliance.
- Year-end closing: Support the year-end closing process including audits, reconciliations, and final reports in close collaboration with external auditors.
- Invoice and payment management: Process and oversee payment cycles to ensure timely and accurate transactions. Communicate with suppliers to maintain smooth operations.
- Financial advice: Respond to ad-hoc financial questions related to new projects and business needs, working closely with departments such as Data, Marketing, Content, and IT.
Your profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (HBO or equivalent).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role (e.g., accountant or bookkeeper).
- Experience with accounting systems – Exact Online is a strong plus.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and compliance.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills, with a proactive mindset.
- Curious about technology and efficiency: you enjoy using tools and software to automate, streamline, and optimize processes.
- Able to work independently and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English.
